Before aromatherapy, I worked in cybersecurity and complex systems analysis — two fields that may seem unrelated, but that share the same discipline: careful observation, source verification and avoiding simplistic conclusions.
Wintergreen and kayaking were the starting point: a need-driven experience, not an intuition.
Nature and outdoor activities (kayaking, hiking, paddleboarding) shaped my sensitivity to plants. In California, that interest became a structured practice through certified training.
Today, Aroma Compass reflects this philosophy. My goal is to help people better understand essential oils, their uses, limitations and role within a thoughtful wellbeing approach.
I do not view essential oils as universal solutions. I see them as tools whose relevance always depends on the context, the individual, and the intended objective.
My Approach
An independent, person-centered approach.
My background influences how I approach aromatherapy, but Aroma Compass is first and foremost grounded in an independent, person-centered philosophy.
Concretely: when someone asks for "an essential oil for sleep", a blend is never my first move. I first try to understand the context — the possible origin of the issue, existing habits, any contraindications. The essential oil is a consequence of that understanding, never a starting point.
